Like everyone else, there was a first time for me in Live Action Role Play (LARP)
- attending a Curious Pastimes Event.
For me it was Renewal - others may have started with any of the five CP
events - Prelude, Crusade, Fayre, Heart of Darkness or Renewal.
However, I am sure that the experience is the same for everyone - there are
a lot of people around you who seem to know what is going on !!
(Yes... I know that life is like that - and natural paranoia should be included
into LARP !! <grin>)
But I felt that it may be possible for newcomers, and some veterans, to gain
more enjoyment in those early days by having a short primer on "Who is
Who", "What is What", in fact "What is the Meaning of Life
in LARP?" - (it is unlikely to be 42)
I wanted to know:
Who are all these people?
Who can I talk to in other factions and who should I shun?
Who is trying to kill me?
Who are all these characters around me - and where do I fit in with them?
What is the story behind my group in the faction?
What are all the rituals about?
If I visit other camps, how do I know what information may be useful?
and a lot of other things...
This site is therefore designed for three groups of people
Newcomers who want to find out more about the world in which they will be
'LARPing'
Refs and Command in the Wolves, to disseminate essential plot information-
(or other groups who want to develop ideas)
Individual characters - who may wish to give a potted history of who they
are, and why they are in the Wolves Camp
