Lord Wolf - The Lord General

Bothvar Egilson -  Head of the Wolves faction

The History of Bothvar Egilson.

Bothvar was the second son of Egil who was a skald of the Norsca some hundred years or so ago.

His elder brother Storvar was a great warrior and berserker. The two brothers had many adventures and Egil in the great Halls told tales of their exploits along with countless other stories of the warriors of Norsca.

Bothvars talents how ever lay in a different direction to his brother and he joined the order of Magistrates. He became a sergeant of a company dealing out justice and on the death of the leader became the group captain. Soon his skill of leading in battle grew, as did his promotions.

One night while he lay with his wife Ulla, Forsetti visited him. Forsetti told Bothvar that Axenholm was being raided. Axenholm was the founding place of the laws that bound the once fragmented Friesians together.

Kissing his Ulla goodbye he grabbed his cain shirt and sword and ran to rouse his men to beat off the raiding party. Seven boats set sail into the wind and rain Bound for Axenholm and set for combat. The cover of night and the heavy swells hid the boats until the last minute and they fell upon the invaders. The two ships on defence were taken out with no casualties but the alarm was raised. Bothvars men lost a full score but took more than four times that with them.

The fight raged on land and sea in the heavy swells of the island and as the last boat in a desperate attempt to escape smashed into Bothvars boat the Glimspeck the boat lurched and Bothvar was thrown over board. Weighted down with his chain He sank to the bottom and Ran harvested his soul.

Now Forsetti saw what was happening and went to Ran and asked for the soul of Bothvar to reside with him in Glittnir for he felt responsible for his death Ran agreed and that was were Bothvar lived at the right hand of Forsetti until one day came to him and said "it is time for you to return to Midgard. My Brother Baldur has need of a mortal man and the new leader of Norsca needs a tempering hand for he is the follower of my half brother Thor and can be a little impetuous."

So as Lord Ciak was taken by Baldur, Valarkin became the new Lord General of Norsca so Bothvar was returned to sit as the Lord magistrate and second to Lord Wolf. This was not an easy relationship at first and the two men were weary of each other but each has proven themselves to the other and a firm friendship has been born.

Following the demise of Valarkin - the role of Lord Wolf fell upon Bothvar's Shoulders.

Initially a dispute seemed to arise as Balba - as the Pretender could wield the Hammer of Thor equal to Bothvar.
However, when Balba arrived at the Gate of the Wolves - supported by Crimson Wolves - it soon transpired that he was the God Loki - the Great Trickster and Deceiver - and thus the Land had truly decided -
Bothvar was the Rightful Lord General of the Wolves

BOOK OF THE DEPARTED - FORMER COMMAND FIGURES

- 2nd in Command in the Wolves Faction - Yorak

Little is known of Yorak prior to his arrival at Valarkin’s engagement feast in 1102.

A Norscan who had spent much of his life in foreign lands for reasons unknown. He returned to Norsca as an alchemist, joined the white wolves and spent the next couple of years working with princess Anima in what proved to be a challenging working relationship.

This all changed at the Renewal of Magic in 1103 when he was marked by a Valkyrie. Since that time he has been less than successful with many of his alchemical endeavours, and can now be found more often in the midst of a fight than with his nose in a cauldron.

With the passing of Thane Wall in 1104 and his subsequent appearance at the midnight Ting accompanied by a Valkyrie, Wall passed Yorak his wolf shield and announced that he was chosen by the land to stand beside Bothvar as his second.

Departed 1105 - fell in battle

- 3rd In Command in the Wolves Faction - Thorgrimm -

Heir to the Jarl of Thorscliff, Thorgrimm is the Warmaster of the Norscan Armies and leader of the Arm of Thor.

Having heard the call of Thor to travel the world, performing heroic deeds, drinking too much and bedding many wenches, Thorgrimm found his way into the service of the previous Lord Wolf, Valarkin, Chosen of Thor, as his right hand axe.  After Valarkin’s passing Bothvar called upon Thorgrimm to serve as his Warmaster, a position he reluctantly accepted.

Easily pleased by the simple things in life, Thorgrimm is the epitome of Norscan behaviour. Joyful in drink, song and wenches, vicious and unforgiving in battle, loyal, steadfast and woefully uncomplicated. “Race you to Valhalla!”

Departed 1105 - Ordered into battle against unstoppable odds - again!!! taken by a Mage

- 3rd in Command of the Faction - Hobbs - Diplomat

assassinated Renewal 1106 on Sunday evening straight after the battle by three svart-elves, using Bitterkiss poison intended for Lord Bothvar.

Couldn't get enough heal power to him in time, and didn't recognise the poisoning until too late. Had been Head Ambassador for the Wolves for well over a year

Departed 1106 - Sacrificed himself to protect the Lord General
