After the great victory at Renewal it seems the factions have finally turned the tide of battle against the Greenskins. Yet the dust has barely settled on the battlefield and the Greenskins have regrouped and are attacking in greater numbers than before. Surrounded by enemies and cut-off from their allies many Lord Generals face the horrifying prospect of losing their armies and their lands in just a few months.

Then from the faction spy networks comes a piece of information that, if true could be salvation for each faction. After a hasty meeting the Lord Generals have returned to their Factions and asked for volunteers. Information on the actual mission is vague but it was made clear that it is very high risk, and means going into the heart of Mount Gummaresh and only the elite of the factions will be chosen. Soon your small band of volunteers are picked and start the long trek towards the great mountain. Finally after many days travel your small band of heroes stand in the mountains great shadow and listen as your leader explains the exact details of the mission. As the plan is revealed each member of your group gazes at each other, wondering who will not be returning to their homelands.

This years prelude will be at the brand new Blakeridge indoor LRP site that boasts a large dungeon area and many other features. A must for those who have never adventured in the great indoors before! (link here to Curious Pastimes Site - Prelude )

Odessa has fallen over the winter and the land is separated by the Greenskins. The Jhereg and Nomads in one pocket are trapped to the east, Gryphons to the west and Lions, Wolves and Fir Cruthen to the North. The Vipers themselves are under siege. If the centre of the world is lost, the factions will become separated and each will have to face the Greenskins isolated and alone. Odessa is the main port in southern Teutonia and yet another base from which the Greenskins will march. It must be retaken!

Slowly the armies begin to assemble, the snow recedes and the march begins. From Erin, Caledonia and Cymrjia the Fir Cruthen bands march south, meeting their rivals, the Lions of Albion. They cross into northern Teutonia together and strike deeper through deserted lands. The Wolves, taking their fleets head around the coast, hoping to meet the other factions before engaging the Greenskins. Nomads and Jhereg travel the Lace Route, bitter enemies travelling side by side in silence towards Teutonia and the Kaladin forces and leaving another behind, the Draken. Often do the men look over their shoulder. The Gryphons are heard to be gathering in the forests of the Silver Oaks preparing to support the forces at Odessa. And finally the Vipers; pushed out of Odessa they stand firm, shield walls locked and facing more magic users than ever before.

The factions come together, divided initially by the Kaladin forces they have two goals in mind. First to push through and join together and then to retake Odessa and keep the world whole and factions united against this common threat.

As the battle lines begin to form will you be at the centre, forging the link again?

Crusade will start with divided factions across the site, relying on you to role-play the separation of the factions. It promises to be a combat heavy weekend with skirmishes, battles and sieges; and surrounding this, scouting exercises and information gathering. A massive start to the year.

This year we have the use of the entire site grounds so Crusade promises to be bigger and better than last year. Also you can now arrive on Thursday to ease any potential travelling difficulties that may occur - (link here to Curious Pastime site)

As the war continues you are offered the chance to withdraw from the front and take some well earned leave. The Fayre, offered once again by King Carl Trueheart will create the usual benefits and festivities within the well guarded city of Oxford. The host of the first Fayre, the Lions enjoy courtly displays and offer a host of competitions in which to take part, earn a name for yourself and glory in the arena.

Of course behind the scenes the war continues and everyone is on their guard, plans are to be made and information gathered and considered. But for now perhaps just a moment to relax and remind yourself what you are fighting for. As the journey nears its end your mind starts to turn to other problems. Gates to the land of the dead appearing around the world, the rumour that a member of the Phoenix Guard who went through returned as a Zombie, and the appearance of the character called Silver accompanied by a host of powerful undead. The Principalities, Magic, Spirit, Corporeal, War, the accursed return of the Nything; rumours spread that there may be others, that this Nything looks different now. What are the solutions to these riddles, the answer must lie somewhere.

The rangers talk of super-scouts of the Greenskins, and their presence at these occasions last year. Whispered plans of a hunt are mentioned.

The meeting is set, information gathered, it is no secret now, a Summit of the factions has been called but why the secrecy, is the threat so great this far away from the front line. Here and now the plan will be drawn, the battle decided, who will fight with whom, and how we can win.

All the information must be gathered, collated, put in a format for all to understand and then the plans must be made. All information gatherers, translators and rangers have been summoned. Nearly all the faction groups are represented, the greatest strategists and war leaders are present. So far off the front lines and yet so much at risk. Every notable faction here, in this isolated place. Now would be the perfect time for an attack. The guards stand irresolute, will this be easy or will this be the worst test yet. Everyone is guarded, on guard, checked and double checked. The paranoia is at its height, the tension exists everywhere. Now will be decided the fate of all.

This event promises to be an event of intrigue and danger, where will the dagger come from next, who can trust who. An event for the strategist and planner. Amongst this we hope to hold some skirmishes, including the well gossiped about naval combat.

Barnswood is a superb site for role-play and adventuring. Any groups wishing to pay for adventures this year should really consider attending this event. Around this will be the tournament glade and competitions held in the tavern. (link here to Curious Pastimes)

With the plan decided and the festival of Renewal at hand it is with some surprise that Tamerlaine of the Nomads has agreed to host and within Franconia! Surely not? Can this be a ruse to send you back against the Kaladin or is there a bigger picture that as yet cannot be seen. You have been told the Franconians, an ancient group within the Nomads will guide you in, but the mystery and danger troubles you. So close to the enemy there must be a fight, it seems unavoidable. So what is the plan? If only you’d gone to the meeting at the Summit!

Within this wild and desolate land the war will obviously be taken to the Greenskins. Will you be a part of it?

Aside from this there are the undead,do they roam Franconia like the rest of the world? And what of the Principalities, what deal is being struck with them? Why do they appear at certain moments as if knowing what is to come? And finally the missing link, who is it and what can be done about it? The sixth Principality.
