The Dire Lands stretch from the Forest of Sif, to the Norn Swamps
The Dire Wolves base much of their internal laws and guidelines on the basic ideal that every situation has the opportunity for profit. Profit, however, is a loose word, as profit can take the form of actual coin, items worth coin, or even a new friend and trade partner. The three foundations to much of these guidelines come from three tales of how the individual races, Ogres, Beast-kin, and Lizardman, put aside their differences and joined together as the Dire Wolves, to guard each others weaknesses, and benifit from each others strengths. It has been these stories that has seen the Dire come out of their forest, grasslands and swamps, and mingle and trade with the outside world. With this, however, comes some doubt, as the Elder Dire are finding it difficult to accept, as increased trade also brings increased threat. This was proven recently with the loss of Gul Rathbone and his entire caravan, killed by a swarm attack in the Forest of Frieg, far to the North...

In addition to these losses, it seems each event the Dire Wolf attend, comes at its own cost, with people going missing or being lost time and time again. The Died Wolf list grows ever longer, and there is many pages left. Those lost are missed greatly, as friends, comrades and Dire Wolves...
